This Mercury Monterey 4-door sedan was kept in storage in a family factory in Iowa until 1973. The building was sold, and the car was moved to the ex-wife’s garage, then to her nephew’s garage and eventually sold to the first car collector in year 2000 with just 4,600 original miles.
Eventually the car made its way to Fraser, Michigan, where I purchased it in mid 2019 with 6,975 miles showing. The car is ALL 100% stock and an unrestored survivor. The paint, trim, chrome, interior and all parts are original, except for maintenance items to keep the car road ready. Two minor areas of paint were retouched; the trunk lock was repainted due to the lock being jammed, and the top panel of the driver’s door was resprayed.
I look forward to many years of sharing this car story and seeing the smiles from people who remember the ‘Breezeway’ power rear window that retracts into the trunk area. Let’s keep rolling! jwmagnusson@yahoo.com

I’ve seen this car! This is one situation where an ugly divorce created something beautiful for future generations. It looks like it just came off the show room floor!
